Extra information :
The goal of this game was teaching us how to create a simple mmo game within a limited amount of time. The added difficulty was working with a new programming language and a new engine. Our team did not only want to create something that worked but it should also be fun. We choose to build a simple 3rd person vehicle shooter. Because of the limited time we used the art assets from the BigWorld editor. All the art in the game except for the player vehicles are not created by our team.
My role :
During this project I functioned as a programmer. I was in charge of the gameplay and network functions. The standard BigWorld project lets players connect with each other and play in the same world. However shooting was not included in the demo and had to be build. To get this working the bullets had to be created on the server and work the same for all players. Besides this I had to build the gameplay elements, letting the player drive the avatars, get damage and shoot.
